The Witcher 3 mod adds Monster Hunter-style gameplay and a massive new map

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Mod

A brand-new The Witcher 3 mod has landed on Nexus, and it’s giving Geralt a full Monster Hunter-style experience. Created by Aeltoth, the mod, called Wild Monster Hunt, introduces an entirely new game mode packed with monster contracts, gear progression, and a sprawling new map roughly the size of Toussaint.

Players can start a fresh Wild Monster Hunt playthrough or jump in from their existing saves to earn gold and resources. The mode centres around a customisable camp, think Corvo Bianco, but built for hunters, where you can upgrade facilities, craft powerful gear, and prepare for tougher hunts.

A Monster Hunter twist for Witcher 3 fans

Each mission sends players out into the wilderness to slay monsters, complete contracts, and gather materials for new equipment. There’s even a punishing “Merciless Path” challenge mode that makes you drop your gear on death, adding a tense extraction-style twist to the action.

You can start Wild Monster Hunt from the main menu or via a new signpost east of White Orchard. If the new game option crashes, the modder suggests using the signpost method instead.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED’s official cross-platform mod support has been delayed to next year, but with mods like this, The Witcher 3’s fan community clearly isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
