Teresa Palmer cast as Sif in Amazon’s God of War series as Norse story expands

Amazon is clearly not slowing down with its video game TV push, and God of War is the latest to make noise again. This time, it is a casting update that actually tells us something meaningful about the show.

Warm Bodies actor Teresa Palmer has been cast as Sif in Amazon’s God of War TV series. The news comes via Deadline and lands just days after Ryan Hurst was confirmed as Kratos. Yes, the same Ryan Hurst who voiced Thor in God of War Ragnarök. Funny how that worked out.

Sif’s casting in new God of War series changes the conversation

This is not just another name added to the call sheet. Sif’s inclusion gives us a clearer idea of the story Amazon wants to tell. We already knew the show would skip Kratos’ Greek past and head straight into the Norse era. Now we know it is not limited to just the events of God of War (2018).

Sif exists on the edges of Ragnarök, but she is still a major figure in Norse mythology and Thor’s wife. Bringing her in suggests the show will expand the world, not just retell the games beat for beat. That is a smart move, if done right.

Filming is expected to begin around March 2026, so more casting news should follow soon. The series is now led by Ronald D. Moore, after PlayStation Productions rebooted the project, with Frederick E.O. Toye set to direct the opening episodes.

At the time of writing, this is shaping up to be more than a safe adaptation. Now we wait to see if Amazon can actually deliver.
