After all the waiting, the Starfield PS5 release date is now locked. April 7, 2026. No more rumours, no more guessing.
This is not just a late port quietly dropping either. Bethesda is clearly treating this like a second chance to get attention. The PS5 launch comes bundled with the “Free Lanes” update, which is being pushed as the biggest overhaul so far.
On top of that, there is new story content. Terran Armada is arriving alongside the release, though details are still being held back for a proper showcase.
Pricing is straightforward. $49.99 for the base version, and $69.99 if you want the Premium Edition.

Starfield PS5 features feel more than just a port
The PS5 version is doing more than ticking boxes. DualSense support is fully in play, with adaptive triggers changing how weapons feel, even in space combat. The light bar reacts to your health, which is a nice touch.
Small upgrades might matter more though. Better surface maps should fix one of the bigger complaints. The REV-8 vehicle also adds more freedom when exploring planets.

At the time of writing, this feels like Bethesda trying to reset the conversation. Whether players give it another shot is the real test.
