It feels like 1047 Games is not done fighting yet. The Splitgate studio has confirmed it’s building something new on the side, and this time, it’s chasing speed.
The Splitgate developer new shooter project is being handled by a small team, with Ian Proulx saying it takes clear inspiration from Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. That means fast movement, tight gunplay, and likely a big skill gap.
Importantly, this isn’t replacing Splitgate. It’s more of a backup plan… or maybe a second chance.
Splitgate developer’s new shooter could be a turning point
Let’s be honest, Splitgate 2 didn’t land well. Even the rework into Arena Reloaded couldn’t bring it back in a big way. Players moved on, and the hype faded fast.
So this new direction matters. A proper movement shooter could tap into a crowd that still misses that Titanfall feel.

Playtests are coming soon, which suggests the team wants feedback early. That’s smart. But it also shows this is still very early days.
Right now, this looks like a gamble. If it works, 1047 Games might finally reset its story. If not, it’s another tough chapter.
