Amazon Prime Video has shared the first official look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in its upcoming Tomb Raider TV series, and fans are already excited.

The image was posted on the official Prime Video X account with the caption, “Get your artifacts out. Lara’s on her way.” While this is not a full trailer, it gives a clear look at Turner’s costume and style as the famous explorer.

Sophie Turner was confirmed for the role in September 2025. At the same time, Amazon revealed that filming for the series will begin sometime in 2026.

More casting news was shared just last week. Jason Isaacs will play Lara’s uncle, while Sigourney Weaver joins the show as a new and mysterious character who wants to use Lara’s special skills.

The cast also includes Martin Bobb Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein. Most of them will appear as brand new characters created for the series.

This Tomb Raider show was first announced in May 2024. The project has strong creative support, with award winning writer Phoebe Waller Bridge working as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.

As filming moves closer, fans can expect more updates about the story and the world this new Tomb Raider series will explore.
