Silksong pushes Demonschool delay to November 19 with added launch content

Demonschool

Demonschool won’t be making its planned September 3 launch. Publisher Ysbryd Games has pushed the stylish tactics RPG back to November 19, citing the sudden arrival of Hollow Knight: Silksong on September 4 as the main reason.

The decision, described as one made with “anguished consideration,” came after the surprise announcement of Silksong’s release date. In a press release, Ysbryd founder Brian Kwek admitted it was near impossible to compete with Team Cherry’s long-awaited sequel, especially when it was set to drop a single day later.

September has already been shaping up to be brutal for new releases. Alongside Silksong, the month is packed with heavy-hitters like the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and Ghost of Yotei. Ysbryd explained that delaying ensures Demonschool gets its own spotlight.

The extra time will also bring perks. Players can expect added launch content, including alternate endings and minigames that were originally planned as post-release updates.

Developer Necrosoft Games echoed the sentiment, posting on Bluesky that while the move wasn’t their choice, they backed the decision. “Ysbryd is being a good partner and paying for the delay. We’re sorry this is happening.”

Demonschool will now release on November 19 for PC and all major platforms.
