It looks like ASUS and Microsoft’s new handheld PCs might be hitting shelves sooner than expected. Reliable tipster Billbil-kun claims the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will arrive on 16 October 2025.

The scoop comes from Dealabs, a site with a strong track record for accurate hardware leaks. Pricing is also said to be locked in, with the standard model at €599 (around £506) and the beefier Ally X at €899 (about £759).

According to the report, both devices will open for pre-orders during Gamescom 2025. This lines up with Microsoft’s earlier confirmation that fans can try the handhelds at the Cologne event. It’s expected that the full reveal – price, release date, and all – will happen during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase on 19 August.

Rumours of an October release have been floating around for months. Other leakers, including eXtas1s, had already hinted at that window. Now, this is the first time a precise date has been attached.

While ASUS and Microsoft remain tight-lipped, Billbil-kun’s accuracy on past gaming hardware launches makes this one hard to dismiss. If true, October could be a huge month for handheld gaming – with Xbox right in the spotlight.
