Capcom has given fans a fresh look at Resident Evil: Requiem, and the message is loud and clear: Leon Kennedy is back, and he means business. With launch set for 27 February 2026, the new showcase leaned heavily into what makes Leon such a fan favourite.

Director Koshi Nakanishi opened things with a knowing smile, brushing off old comments before breaking down how the game handles its two leads. Grace brings the tension. Her sections are slower, darker, and closer to the survival horror roots seen in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7. Leon is the opposite.
Gameplay footage showed Leon moving fast, controlling crowds, and ending fights on his terms. Enemies are dropped with well-placed shots, finished up close, or stopped mid-attack thanks to a new hatchet parry. It feels familiar, but sharper, echoing the confident action design of Resident Evil 4.

The story follows Leon after RE 6, with hints that this mission will push him further than before. Elsewhere, Capcom confirmed GeForce Now support, a casual difficulty mode, deluxe extras, themed hardware, and more reveals still to come.
With release now close, Requiem is shaping up fast, and Leon’s return is setting the tone.
