Rainbow Six Siege players logged in expecting a normal day. Instead, they found billions of R6 Credits, Alpha Packs, and cosmetics sitting in their accounts.
It did not last long.
Within minutes, panic spread as “phantom” ban messages began appearing across the game. Players feared the worst. Even high-profile streamers and official Ubisoft accounts were hit, raising serious questions about what had gone wrong.

According to Ubisoft, the Six Siege servers were compromised, triggering a massive economy glitch. Players were credited with items they never earned or purchased. Shortly after, a wave of ban notifications rolled out at the same time, causing widespread alarm.
Ubisoft moved quickly. On X, the publisher confirmed a full rollback of all transactions made after 11:00 AM UTC. Any R6 Credits spent during the incident would be reversed, and affected accounts would not be banned.
The studio also clarified that the ban ticker had been disabled in a recent update. The messages were not authorised. A separate ShieldGuard ban wave did happen, but Ubisoft insists it was unrelated.
To stop further damage, Siege servers and the marketplace were taken offline. That decision likely prevented serious economic fallout, including inflation and marketplace collapse.
Ubisoft has labelled the situation an “incident,” not a hack. Whether this was a cyberattack or a backend failure remains unclear.
For now, Six Siege players are waiting. Ubisoft has yet to share its next update.
