Project TAL brings Korean legends to life in a stunning open-world RPG

Project TAL

Wemade Max and MADNGINE have revealed Project TAL, a striking new single-player open-world action RPG inspired by the myths and masks of Korea. Previously known as TAL: The Arcane Lands, the game is targeting a 2027 release for PC and consoles worldwide.

According to Wemade Max CEO Sohn Myun-seok, Project TAL will merge an “emotionally powerful story about healing a broken world” with the kind of fast, satisfying combat fans expect from classic action RPGs. Built as a AAA experience, it’s clearly aiming high, and looks like it could stand toe-to-toe with the biggest names in the genre.

Project TAL – official announcement trailer

A cinematic blend of myth and action

The debut trailer wastes no time showing what Project TAL is about: brutal, stylish combat mixed with cinematic flair. Players can leap onto towering monsters, target weak points, and chain together slick combos and counterattacks. It’s all about speed, precision, and spectacle.

But this isn’t just a lone-hero story. One of the game’s biggest hooks is its companion system, which brings tactical teamwork into play. Each companion has unique abilities, personalities, and roles, whether they’re shielding you from attacks, launching ranged strikes, or weaving powerful magic. They’ll even adapt mid-battle, reacting to your style and the chaos unfolding around them.

If the trailer’s anything to go by, Project TAL is shaping up to be something special, a fusion of heartfelt storytelling, deep combat, and Korean folklore, all wrapped in an ambitious open-world experience.

It’s set to launch in 2027, and it might just be one of the most exciting RPGs to watch on the horizon.
