Pragmata confirmed for 2026 release with exciting dual-character gameplay

After years of silence and speculation, PRAGMATA is officially back in orbit. Capcom has confirmed that the long-awaited sci-fi title will launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam. And yes—this one’s shaping up to be something unique.

Set in a near-future world and drifting through the eerie quiet of a lifeless lunar research station, PRAGMATA follows spacefarer Hugh and an android named Diana. Their paths cross by chance, but their survival quickly becomes a shared mission when they find themselves up against a hostile AI that’s taken control of the station. With Earth far behind and danger lurking around every corner, Hugh and Diana must team up and rely on each other’s strengths to find a way back home.

The twist? You’ll be controlling both characters at the same time.

Yep, that’s right. This is a single-player adventure where dual-character control takes centre stage. The core of the gameplay revolves around hacking, not just as a narrative device but as a key part of combat. Capcom promises that this mechanic adds a strategic and exciting edge to every encounter, offering something you won’t find anywhere else.

What to expect from PRAGMATA’s gameplay

On the PlayStation Blog, director Cho Yonghee shared more about what to expect. The newly revealed trailer gives us a peek at the game’s cold, moody moon setting and our main duo. While brief, there’s even a glimpse of action gameplay, showing off the game’s distinctive sci-fi style.

Both Hugh and Diana have their own abilities, and you’ll need to use them in tandem to progress. The team is keeping the deeper gameplay details under wraps for now, but there’s more to come, including a breakdown of how the Hacking system works and how it ties into combat.

Cho also added that the development team is hard at work to make PRAGMATA worth the wait. And honestly, with its striking visuals, layered combat, and intriguing two-character setup, it’s already looking like a standout sci-fi adventure.
