Bungie is entering a new era as studio head and CEO Pete Parsons departs after more than two decades with the company. Parsons confirmed his exit in a blog post, saying it was the right time for “a new beginning.” His role will now be taken over by Justin Truman, who has been with Bungie for 15 years.

Parsons first joined in 2002 and became studio head in 2015. His time in charge saw the launch of Destiny 2 and growth as an independent studio. But his leadership also came under fire during the company’s recent struggles. Bungie has faced plagiarism scandals, large-scale layoffs, and accusations from former staff, many of whom placed blame directly on Parsons and senior leadership.

Truman, who has moved through roles including engineer, designer, and producer, promised to carry studio’s vision forward. He highlighted the studio’s mission to create worlds that bring people together, while also admitting the challenges of recent years.

All eyes are now on Truman as he steps into the role. For fans and employees alike, the hope is that Bungie can find stability and rebuild trust under new leadership.
