OneXPlayer Super X shines with strong Strix Halo power and smart features

OneXPlayer Super X

OneXPlayer is getting ready to launch something quite different with its upcoming Super X 14-inch device. The company has shared an early Kickstarter preview that shows a bold mix of tablet and laptop in one machine. The idea is to give users a compact device that can switch roles easily while still offering serious power inside.

Super X

At the centre of the Super X is AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. It uses 16 cores, 32 threads, and can boost up to 5.1 GHz. The built-in Radeon 8060S graphics chip offers power close to a desktop RTX 4060, which is impressive for a small 2-in-1 device. This makes the Super X suitable for big tasks like editing videos, working with AI tools, or playing games at smooth speeds.

One of the standout features is its support for external liquid cooling. Out of the box, the device runs at a 45 W TDP. But when you attach the Frost Bay liquid cooler, the APU can jump to 120 W. This allows longer, faster performance without overheating. This is rare for a hybrid device and shows that OneXPlayer wants to push limits. The cooler is sold separately but gives the system a clear performance boost.

The Super X can also take up to 128 GB of RAM. Out of this, up to 96 GB can be shared with the GPU. This is useful for anyone planning to run local AI models or handle heavy multitasking.

The 14-inch display is designed to look sharp and feel smooth. It offers a 2880×1800 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate that shifts between 48 Hz and 120 Hz. It also includes HDR support, a very high contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and 4,096 pressure levels for drawing and writing. This makes the screen great for artists and creative users.

Super X storage options

Storage options are flexible. Users can install an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD and even add a BiWin Mini SSD for up to 2 TB more space. A microSD slot is also available for quick file transfers or extra storage.

Powering everything is an 85.58 Wh battery. OneXPlayer says it can last around 12.2 hours while playing offline videos and up to 8.2 hours while streaming online. These numbers come from the company’s own tests, so real reviews will show the true performance later.
