NuPhy Node 100 brings retro charm with smart modern features

NuPhy has officially introduced the NuPhy Node 100, a new mechanical keyboard that blends a classic retro look with modern features made for daily productivity. After the earlier launch of the Node 75, the company has now expanded the series with a larger 1800 layout that includes a full num pad while still saving desk space compared to a traditional full-size keyboard.

The NuPhy Node 100 keeps the same retro design language seen in the Node series. Its look is inspired by classic Braun-style products, giving it a clean and timeless feel. Along the top edge, the keyboard includes a touch-sensitive strip that can be used for simple controls. On the other side, small dot matrix indicator lights show useful information, adding both function and visual appeal.

To keep the price reasonable, NuPhy has used a plastic body with a PCB gasket mount. This design still offers a soft and comfortable typing feel. The NuPhy Node 100 is priced at $109.99 and is available in Ink Grey, Lunar White, and Light Pink through NuPhy’s official online store.

One of the biggest strengths of the NuPhy Node 100 is choice. It is available in both low-profile and full-height versions. Buyers can also select between linear, silent, and light tactile switches. The low-profile version uses NuPhy Nano switches based on a low-profile design. While switch choices are limited for now, this version is aimed at users who want a slim keyboard for work and travel. Even with its portable focus, the keyboard still feels solid, weighing 787 grams.

The NuPhy Node 100 supports multiple connection options. Users can connect through 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, or USB-C for a wired setup. This makes it easy to use the keyboard with laptops, desktops, tablets, and even phones.

Both versions of the NuPhy Node 100 come with durable PBT keycaps. The low-profile model uses nSA keycaps with dye-sublimated legends, while the full-height version features double-shot keycaps in the mSA profile. For better comfort, the keyboard includes adjustable feet that offer typing angles of 6, 9, and 12 degrees. The front height is kept low on both models, helping reduce strain during long typing sessions.

The 1800 layout of the NuPhy Node 100 is ideal for users who work with numbers often. It keeps the full-size zero key on the num pad, so muscle memory is not affected. At the same time, the layout reduces extra gaps between keys, making the keyboard more compact.

Customization is another strong point. The NuPhy Node 100 is fully remappable using NuPhy’s web-based tool and runs on NuPhyIO firmware. With RGB lighting turned off, battery life can reach up to 1,000 hours. The low-profile version includes a 3,000 mAh battery, while the full-height model comes with a larger 4,000 mAh battery. With RGB lighting on, battery life drops to around 100 hours.

NuPhy has also released 3D models and reference files for the NuPhy Node 100. Users with access to a 3D printer can create custom accessories such as phone stands, pen holders, display docks, and more. This adds a personal and creative touch to the keyboard.

Overall, the NuPhy Node 100 stands out as a stylish and practical mechanical keyboard. It offers a retro look, modern wireless features, strong battery life, and flexible options for different users, making it a positive and exciting addition to NuPhy’s growing lineup.
