Neon Giant, the studio behind 2021’s The Ascent, has revealed its next project at The Game Awards 2025. It’s called NO LAW, and it’s a big shift for the team.
This time, the studio is moving into first-person. The result is an open-world shooter RPG that looks and feels close to Cyberpunk 2077, but with Neon Giant’s own edge.
No Law World Premiere Trailer from TGA 2025
You play as Grey Harker, a former soldier who walked away from war. He just wants a quiet life, looking after his plants. That dream doesn’t last long. Violence finds him, and he’s dragged back into a world he tried to escape.
The setting is Port Desire, a neon-soaked port city carved into seaside cliffs. There are no rules here. Rooftops, alleys, and crowded streets all feel alive, and the city reacts to what you do.
Choices matter. Help someone in trouble or remove a threat for good. Move quietly through the shadows or go loud and messy. Even without laws, consequences follow you.
Combat is first-person and powered by Unreal Engine 5. Players can lean into stealth, precision shooting, or pure destruction. Military upgrades, sci-fi gadgets, and vertical movement all play a role.
According to Managing Director Claës af Burén, NO LAW is the studio’s most personal project yet. Bigger systems, deeper reactivity, and a stronger focus on player choice are the goals.
NO LAW is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, with Krafton publishing. It’s already live on Steam wishlists.

Recommended PC specs are demanding, with 32GB RAM and modern GPUs listed. No minimum requirements yet.
This city has no rules. The question is how far you’re willing to go.
