Nioh 3 leak hints at February 2026 release with special editions revealed

Nioh 3 - fighting against powerful yokai

Looks like Nioh 3 might be cutting in line for an earlier-than-expected release. A leak out of Amazon Japan has hinted that Team Ninja’s next souls-like action-RPG could be dropping on 6 February 2026.

Nioh 3 – announcement trailer

The listing, which was quickly scrubbed, showed both a standard edition and a flashy “Treasure Box” collector’s edition. That premium bundle packed in an art book, a soundtrack CD, a mousepad, and yes, you read that right, a furry keychain. Screenshots of the cover art and bundle details made the rounds before vanishing, and the timing is raising eyebrows.

Nioh 3 - Samurai

Why? Because there’s a PlayStation State of Play happening today. With Nioh 3 confirmed for PS5 and PC, it feels like the perfect stage for Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja to finally lock in the date.

As for the game itself, players will be stepping into the role of a fictionalised Tokugawa Takechiyo, Japan’s first shogun. The story pits him against supernatural threats, with combat letting you fluidly switch between samurai and ninja stances. Samurai brings a Ki Pulse move to recover stamina, while ninja unleashes a mist ability that creates a decoy to throw enemies off.

Team Ninja has openly said Ninja Gaiden influenced the design this time, leaning harder into fast, fluid action. Speaking of which, the studio has another project lined up, Ninja Gaiden 4, co-developed with Platinum Games, lands on 21 October.

So the question is: if Nioh 3 really drops in February, are you going all-in on the Treasure Box, or keeping it simple with the standard edition?
