MindsEye hits another wall: Hitman crossover delayed, updates slow down

Build A Rocket Boy says updates for MindsEye will now be “less frequent.” The planned Hitman crossover? Delayed. No new date. No details.

The Agent 47 mission was set for July. Now it’s been pushed back with no timeline. In a short post on X, the studio apologised and moved on.

It’s another blow for a game that’s already struggling.

Worst-rated game of 2025

MindsEye launched broken. It’s the worst-rated game of the year on Metacritic. Refunds rolled out for PlayStation players. Critics slammed the bugs, performance issues, and dull gameplay.

Before launch, it was already falling apart leaked builds, poor previews, and execs walking out. One co-CEO blamed “saboteurs” inside the company.

Since then, the team’s pushed out patches. The game runs better now. But it still lacks depth. Players aren’t coming back for fixed menus and minor tweaks.

Studio in survival mode

The update slowdown likely follows layoffs. The studio’s running low on people, time, and goodwill.

Some compare this to Cyberpunk 2077. But CD Projekt RED had money, time, and a strong foundation. Build A Rocket Boy doesn’t.

This studio was built around Leslie Benzies’ name. But reputation isn’t enough when the product fails and cash runs out.

No crossover. No roadmap. No clear fix. MindsEye is fading fast.
