Konami’s latest presentation, Konami: Press Start, opened with a familiar face, the same Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailer shown during Summer Game Fest 2025. But the bigger reveal followed shortly after: an entirely new multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt.
Unlike Metal Gear Online, which many fans were hoping to see return, Fox Hunt is something new. Konami made it clear this mode is not a remake or continuation of MGO. Instead, it’s a fresh take on multiplayer gameplay, built to fit the modern landscape.
Yu Sahara, the director behind Fox Hunt, acknowledged the love players still have for Metal Gear Online, but explained that the team wanted to explore new ideas that better reflect current multiplayer trends. While he didn’t give away too many details, Sahara confirmed that Fox Hunt will take the classic stealth gameplay from the Metal Gear series and push it even further, describing it as an evolved form of hide-and-seek.
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater expands its vision with original multiplayer
In a press release following the event, Konami described the Metal Gear Solid mode as one that “broadens the franchise’s core stealth element,” requiring players to use the environment for camouflage and evasion.
So far, we don’t know how many players each match will support, what kinds of game types will be available, or whether the mode will include cross-play. But with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launching on 28 August 2025, more information should be coming soon.

That wasn’t the only major news, either. After receiving praise for their remake of Silent Hill 2, Bloober Team has now been confirmed as the studio behind a full remake of the original Silent Hill. It’s a big move, showing Konami’s renewed trust in the team and its plans to breathe new life into its most iconic franchises.
