Marvel’s Wolverine has finally returned to the spotlight with a big reveal at the latest State of Play. The game is set to release for PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026, and the new trailer gave fans their first real look at gameplay.
The footage showed Logan in his classic violent style, cutting through enemies with fast and bloody moves. The action is intense and heavy, reminding many of the Ninja Gaiden series. Players also got a peek at several locations that will appear in the story, from gritty streets to larger, more open areas.

The team at Insomniac Games shared how much care is going into the project. Creative Director Marcus Smith, Executive Producer Eric Monacelli, and Senior Project Manager Jess Reiner Reed all explained that their goal is to make the most authentic Wolverine game ever. The trailer also revealed famous Marvel faces like Mystique and Omega Red, who will play a role in the adventure.

Another big moment was the casting news. Liam McIntyre, known for Spartacus, Gears of War 4 and 5, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will play Logan. His voice and performance in the trailer already show he can bring Wolverine’s raw energy to life.

Marvel’s Wolverine release date
Although the game will not release until Fall 2026, more details are planned for Spring 2026. With its intense combat, iconic characters, and cinematic look, Marvel’s Wolverine is shaping up to be a major highlight for PlayStation 5.
