Looks like Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra won’t be storming into battle anytime soon. Skydance Games has officially delayed the highly anticipated superhero adventure once again, pushing its release to mid or late 2026.
The news came through a post on X, where the studio said it’s committed to delivering a “premium experience” worthy of both the Marvel name and the fans’ expectations. According to Skydance, Rise of Hydra is one of its most ambitious projects yet, and they’re taking the extra time to make sure it hits the mark.

It’s worth noting that this is the second time the game’s been delayed. It was first planned for 2025, then moved to early 2026, and now it’s slipped even further. The timing of this announcement was also uncanny, just minutes before Rockstar Games revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI would be moving to November 2026.

Directed by Amy Hennig, the creative mind behind Uncharted, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will follow Captain America and Black Panther teaming up against Hydra during World War II. With cinematic storytelling and action-heavy gameplay at its core, it’s shaping up to be one of Marvel’s boldest gaming projects yet.
Personally, I’m not too upset about the delay. If Skydance Games needs more time to perfect the experience, I’d rather they take it. A rushed release could easily undermine what could be one of the most memorable Marvel games in years.

For now, all eyes are on 2026, and if Rise of Hydra sticks the landing, it might just be worth every extra month of waiting.
