What makes this more notable is who it has overtaken. ARC Raiders, which has been on the market for nearly three months, is now sitting below Marathon in the US chart. That shift shows clear buying intent, not just casual wishlisting.
The Marathon Steam Top Sellers movement also places Bungie’s upcoming shooter ahead of major multiplayer names like Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals, and Apex Legends. Only Resident Evil Requiem and Counter-Strike 2 are currently holding stronger positions.
This is a sharp turnaround for Bungie. The studio faced executive exits and public criticism in recent months. Confidence was shaky. But the numbers now tell a different story.
A server slam test is set for this weekend, just days before the 5 March 2026 launch. If the current Marathon Steam Top Sellers trend holds, Bungie could be heading into release week with real momentum and maybe even a much-needed win.
