Lords of the Fallen 2 is shaping up to be a much sharper, more aggressive action RPG than its predecessors. In a new developer deep-dive video, CI Games showed how it’s refining combat to feel faster, more fluid, and satisfying.
Game director James Lowe calls the approach “bolder, braver, bloodier,” and the team isn’t holding back. Movement and manoeuvrability are getting a major boost, while new animations aim to make every attack feel unique.

Weapon handling is getting an overhaul too. Players can now switch between melee and magic seamlessly, and dual-wielding returns with more flair. The team is also introducing new weapons, giving combat a fresh variety that wasn’t there in the 2023 reboot.
The developers openly addressed past frustrations. They’re focused on pacing, respecting players’ time, and cutting out repetitive moments. Lowe says the goal is clear: fights should feel rewarding from the first swing to the last boss.

This sequel is giving fans a reason to get excited all over again.
