Keychron brings powerful low profile K3 HE and K3 Ultra keyboards for gamers

Keychron K3 HE and K3 Ultra (4)

Keychron has announced two new low profile wireless keyboards called the K3 HE and K3 Ultra. Both keyboards are set to launch on February 12 and are made for users who want fast performance in a slim and easy to carry design.

The K3 HE is built with low profile hall effect magnetic switches. These switches allow users to change how deep a key needs to be pressed before it works. Users can also adjust trigger and reset points and set more than one action on a single key. This makes the keyboard very useful for gaming and advanced control.

Keychron has also confirmed that the K3 HE will support third party low profile hall effect switches. This includes options like Gateron Magnetic Jade Pro and TTC KOM. This means users are not locked into only one switch type and can customise the keyboard more freely.

The K3 Ultra takes a different path. It uses traditional low profile mechanical switches instead of magnetic ones. These are pre lubed Milk POM switches designed for smooth typing. The keyboard has an 8,000 Hz polling rate, which helps reduce input delay. According to Keychron, this allows response times as low as 0.125 milliseconds, making it suitable for competitive gaming.

Both keyboards run on ZMK firmware and support 2.4 GHz wireless mode. Battery life is also a strong point, with Keychron claiming up to 550 hours of use on a single charge.

In terms of design, the K3 HE and K3 Ultra focus on portability. They are expected to feature an ABS bottom case along with metal and wood frame elements, similar to earlier special edition models. The keyboards will be available in both black and white colour options.

Keychron K3 HE and K3 Ultra pricing

Keychron has not shared final pricing yet. However, early access buyers can reserve the keyboard by paying a small fee of $3.

For users looking for a slim keyboard with strong gaming performance and long battery life, the upcoming K3 HE and K3 Ultra appear to be solid new options from Keychron.
