Jean-Charles Gaudechon

Remedy Entertainment has found its next leader. Jean-Charles Gaudechon will officially take over as CEO on March 1, 2026, ending months of interim leadership. The studio has been without a permanent CEO since October 2025, when Tero Virtala stepped down after nearly a decade in charge.

In the meantime, co-founder Markus Mäki has been keeping the studio on track as interim CEO. With Gaudechon stepping in, Remedy is aiming to bring stability and fresh leadership at a crucial time.

Experienced leadership at the helm

Gaudechon comes with over 20 years in the gaming industry. He has held senior executive roles at Electronic Arts and CCP Games, overseeing full business operations and global partnerships. His experience could play a key role as Remedy navigates its future projects and partnerships.

In a statement, Gaudechon said he is “honoured to join Remedy at a pivotal moment.” He emphasised protecting the studio’s creative identity while building lasting value. He also highlighted staying close to players and maintaining trust as a priority.

He added that he will relocate to Finland with his family to work directly with the team. His approach shows a focus on both the people making the games and the audience playing them.

This change signals a new chapter for Remedy Entertainment. With a strong leader now in place, the studio looks ready to push forward on upcoming projects while keeping its player-focused vision intact.
