ILL confirmed for PS5 and Xbox as Mundfish launches new Powerhouse label

After years of haunting our wishlist, ILL is finally spreading its infection to consoles. Originally announced for PC via Steam, the game is now confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, as revealed by developer Team Clout. And that’s not all. The grim, cinematic survival horror will be the first title released under Mundfish Powerhouse, a fresh imprint by none other than Mundfish, the team behind Atomic Heart.

We still don’t have a release date, but things are starting to heat up.

“To everyone who’s been excited about ILL from the very beginning—thank you,” said Max Verehin, CEO of Team Clout and game director. “We’ve reached a major development milestone and are finally ready to share more with the world.”

It’s been a long time coming. ILL has always looked like something brewed in a nightmare lab, and now, with Mundfish Powerhouse backing the project, there’s serious momentum. According to Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni, the new label exists to give daring creators the tools and support they need, both financially and creatively. ILL fits that mould perfectly.

So, what’s ILL all about?

This is no generic monster shooter. ILL takes place inside a sprawling research fort where something terrible has crawled out from the depths. You’re dropped into the middle of it all, weapon in hand, fear in your throat, and not much time to think.

It’s a gritty first-person action-horror game with proper body horror, the kind that makes your stomach turn in the best possible way. The team behind it includes developers and monster designers who’ve worked on some intense horror films, and their cinematic background is all over this thing. If you’ve seen V/H/S/Beyond, Longlegs, IT: Welcome to Derry, or Azrael, you’ll know the kind of dark energy we’re talking about.

There’s also a level of realism here that goes beyond just visuals. You’re not just shooting enemies, you’re dismembering them, reacting to them, and adapting as they change and evolve. The physics-driven world and AI behaviour add to the unpredictability, making every corner a potential deathtrap.

Weapons aren’t just plug-and-play either. You’ll have to maintain them, modify them, and know when to hold back. There’s crafting, resource management, and a sense of weight to every move. Add in binaural audio (that 3D sound that makes everything feel too real), and the horror goes straight to your bones.

Survival horror has had a bit of a renaissance in recent years, but ILL wants to go deeper. Not just to scare you, but to trap you in fear. The devs put it best: films can show you horror, but games like this? They make you live it.

Ill

With ILL, Team Clout is aiming for something raw, emotional, and unforgettable. And now, with support from Mundfish Powerhouse, that vision finally feels within reach.

Keep your eyes on this one—things are about to get nasty in all the right ways.
