ICARUS, the sci-fi survival game from Rocketwerkz and DayZ creator Dean Hall, is arriving on consoles on February 26, 2026. PS5 and Xbox players will finally get a chance to dive in.

The console edition includes the base game, the New Frontiers expansion, and the Pet Companion Pack. That adds eleven animals: three cats, five dogs, and three horses, each with its own progression, talent tree, and survival needs. Players will explore Prometheus, a massive alien region spanning 128km² of dangerous terrain to survive and tame.

Crossplay isn’t available. Console players won’t be able to join PC friends, and PS5 and Xbox owners can’t play together. GRIP Studios hasn’t ruled out adding crossplay later, but nothing is confirmed. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also not on the immediate roadmap.

The timing makes sense. ICARUS launched on PC in 2021 in a rough state, but Rocketwerkz has patched, improved, and expanded the game for six years. Console players now get the most polished version yet, though platform restrictions could frustrate some fans.

For anyone who’s waited to survive in ICARUS’s hostile world on console, February delivers, but you’ll need to pick your platform carefully.
