Sony and Tencent have finally put an end to their messy legal fight over a Horizon clone, and the fallout is already visible. Light of Motiram has been quietly delisted from major digital storefronts, signalling that the case is officially over.
The lawsuit kicked off back in August 2025, with Sony accusing Tencent of copying core ideas, visuals, and themes from its Horizon series. What followed was months of legal back-and-forth, delayed hearings, and some sharp words exchanged in public filings. Now, it is done.

The legal fight ends quietly, but the impact is immediate
According to a new court filing spotted by The Game Post, both companies asked the court to dismiss the case after reaching a confidential agreement. The lawsuit has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought back. All remaining motions were withdrawn, and each side will pay its own legal costs.
As expected, the details of the settlement remain locked away. Still, one thing stands out. Light of Motiram is no longer available on major storefronts, suggesting its removal was a key part of the deal.
Before settling, Sony described the game as a “blatant knockoff,” while Tencent pushed back, arguing that success does not create ownership. Tencent had already agreed to pause promotion and public testing.

What happens to Light of Motiram next is unclear. For now, this legal battle is over, and the game has vanished.
