Guardians of the Wild Sky has just been announced by Blue Isle Studios, and it’s shaping up to be something special for fans of survival crafting games. It’s coming to PC via Steam and is expected to launch this summer.
This one takes you high above the ground, literally. You’ll explore a massive sky world filled with floating islands, dangerous creatures, and mysterious ruins. Whether you go it alone or bring friends along, your adventure starts with one key companion: the Guardians.
These magical creatures aren’t just pets. They’re your partners, each with unique powers and traits. You’ll raise them, bond with them, and rely on them in every part of your journey—whether it’s exploring the skies, crafting gear, or holding the line in battle. The game even includes a breeding system, letting you create new Guardians tailored to how you like to play.
Why Guardians of the Wild Sky feels more than just another survival game
There’s a lot to build here. You can create anything from a simple home to a flying castle, or even command a fully built airship. Crafting is deep and varied, with tools, weapons, and even magical items to help you survive and thrive. And yes, you can cook, farm, and fish—all while floating in the clouds.

But it’s not all peaceful sky sailing. The world is full of danger, from hidden caves packed with loot to powerful beasts guarding ancient dungeons. You’ll face off against Cultist factions, uncover long-lost secrets, and earn rare gear if you’re willing to take the risk.

The environment is just as alive as the creatures. Expect day-night cycles, shifting weather, and plenty of wildlife—big and small. The world spans hundreds of kilometres, and with thousands of floating islands, there’s always something new to find.
You can play offline if you prefer taking things at your own pace, or join up with friends for co-op adventures. Multiplayer supports up to five players by default, but you can open things up further if you want to host a bigger server.

Guardians of the Wild Sky is set to release this summer, and it already looks like a promising addition to the genre. Keep an eye on Steam if you’re into the idea of crafting, exploring, and raising magical creatures, all while living in the clouds.
