Amazon’s God of War live-action series is steadily filling out its cast, and the latest news confirms who will play Atreus. Callum Vinson, known for Dead Ringers and Poker Face, is set to take on the role of Kratos’ son.
Ryan Hurst was already confirmed as Kratos, so with both main characters now cast, the show is finally starting to feel real. Fans of the games will be keeping a close eye on how Vinson and Hurst bring the iconic father-son bond to life on screen.
Atreus’ journey is central to the God of War narrative. From discovering he is a god to coming to terms with his new identity, his relationship with Kratos drives much of the story. Fans have always loved this dynamic, and the live-action series has a lot to live up to.

The God of War series is being written and showrun by Ronald D. Moore, with Frederick E.O. Toye, known for Shogun, directing the first two episodes. Cory Barlog is also on board as executive producer, and the show has been greenlit for two seasons.
Other cast members are starting to surface as well. Max Parker will play Heimdall, and Mimir is confirmed to return from the games. With these additions, the adaptation is shaping up to be a faithful and exciting take on the beloved franchise.
