Forza Horizon 6 just raised the bar with its Japan biomes and massive Tokyo overhaul

If there was any doubt about Forza Horizon 6, this new in-engine trailer just ended it.

Over the weekend, Microsoft quietly dropped fresh footage focused on the game’s biomes. No long showcase. No deep dive. Just pure visuals. And it works.

Beaches glow under soft sunlight. Forest roads look dense and alive. Small towns feel tight and detailed. Then the camera shifts to snow-covered mountains and wide countryside stretches. The new ForzaTech engine is doing serious heavy lifting here.

Announced at Tokyo Game Show, Forza Horizon 6 moves the festival to Japan. And this is not a token setting.

Tokyo is reportedly five times larger than any previous Horizon city. That alone is a statement. Expect packed districts, industrial docks, suburbs, and neon-lit streets. Outside the capital, players will race near Mount Fuji and across regions inspired by Kantō, Chūbu, and Kansai. The map is compressed, but still the biggest in series history.

The biggest twist is progression. You start as a tourist. You earn your way into the festival.

Forza Horizon 6 launches 19 May 2026 on PC and Xbox, with PS5 coming later. If this trailer is any indication, the competition should be nervous.
