Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth could hit Switch 2 and Xbox this summer

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may arrive on the Switch 2 sooner than expected. A new report from The Gamer says Square Enix is aiming for a Summer 2026 release window.

The report notes this could still change. Development delays are possible. But right now, Summer is the target.

Xbox and Switch 2 versions could launch together

Earlier rumours suggested the game would also come to Xbox in 2026. Insider NateTheHate added on ResetEra that both platforms “should release at the same time, just as Remake did.” If true, players won’t have to wait on one platform.

This comes after Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade hit Xbox Series X/S recently. It seems Square Enix is keeping momentum across consoles.

Meanwhile, Part 3 of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series is still in development using Unreal Engine 4. No release date has been shared yet, but fans can expect more updates in the future.

With Summer potentially bringing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to Switch 2 and Xbox, the wait for Part 2 might finally be over.
