Amplitude Studios has dropped a one-week demo for Endless Legend 2, giving fans a taste of its long-awaited 4X fantasy strategy sequel.

The demo, live now on Steam, comes after the studio pushed the early access launch from 7 August to 22 September. Players have until 18 August to try it, with Amplitude warning it’s a “limited version” of the game.

You’ll get two playable factions — the Kin of Sheredyn and the Aspects — and a chance to clash with the Necrophage. There’s about 90 turns of gameplay, two world-shaping Tidefalls, and 15 minor factions to discover.

The delay, according to the developer, is to improve onboarding, polish the early-game experience, tweak localization, and balance. Amplitude is actively seeking player feedback on the tutorial, bugs, and translation quality.

Endless Legend 2 is set in the oceanic world of Saiadha, where diverse factions fight planet-spanning wars as cataclysmic events alter the landscape. It’s the studio’s first game since parting ways with Sega in late 2024.

The first Endless Legend released over a decade ago, and fans have been waiting ever since. Now they’ve got a week to see if the sequel can live up to the legacy.
