Hero Games has announced CrisisX, a massive new open-world survival game for PC and mobile. It’s set to launch in Q2 2026, but Gamescom 2025 attendees can already try it out in Cologne at Hall 9.1, Booth B059.
CrisisX official trailer
This isn’t your standard survival sandbox. CrisisX runs on servers that can hold up to 5,000 players at once, all fighting, scavenging, and surviving across a huge 1,200km² map. The world is split into 12 distinct terrains – Western-style towns, frozen peaks, secret labs, and more – each packed with unique wildlife, resources, and gear to hunt down.

Survival isn’t just about collecting loot. The map is crawling with Infected, from relentless hordes to massive Titan mutants. Combat gives players plenty of tools to fight back, ranging from machetes and crossbows to pistols, machine guns, RPGs, and grenades. For those who want heavy firepower, you can even roll out in tanks like the WWII M4 Sherman or modern M2 Bradleys.
Teamwork will be key. Players can band together in groups and communes to control oil wells, expand territory, and fend off rivals. But alliances won’t last forever – expect brutal turf wars over the best resources.
Like any true survival game, CrisisX demands more than combat. You’ll need to watch hunger, thirst, and health, while managing stamina with every move. Home building also plays a major role, letting players claim land, build farms, and fortify their bases- though raids from other survivors are always a threat.

This one looks set to push survival gaming to the extreme.
