Konami is bringing Castlevania back in a big way with Belmont’s Curse, set to arrive on PS5 in 2026. Announced during PlayStation’s February State of Play, the game stars Trevor Belmont, the last of the Belmont line, in a classic metroidvania adventure.

The new title is a collaboration between Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin, marking the first fresh title since Lords of Shadow 2 in 2014. Fans can expect tight exploration, intense combat, and the gothic style the series is known for.
Belmont’s Curse also celebrates 40 years of the franchise, which began on the Famicom Disk System in 1986 and later the NES. Its influence shaped the metroidvania genre, with hits like Super Castlevania 4 and Dawn of Sorrow defining generations.
No exact release date yet, but the hype is building. Konami seems ready to honour its past while pushing the series forward; this could be a defining Castlevania for a new era.
