Blue Prince fights off AI accusations after Indie Game Awards drama

Blue Prince

Blue Prince, one of 2025’s most praised puzzle rogue-likes, has found itself in the middle of an unexpected AI storm. The controversy kicked off after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had its Indie Game Awards wins stripped for suspected AI usage, which suddenly put Blue Prince under the microscope.

Blue Prince publisher Raw Fury defends human creativity

The publisher, Raw Fury, didn’t waste time addressing the rumours. In a social media post, they made it clear: “There is no AI used in the game. It was built and crafted with full human instinct by Tonda Ros (Dogubomb) & his team. It is the result of eight years of development, fuelled by imagination and creativity.”

No evidence was ever presented against the game, making the allegations feel like an unnecessary distraction for a game that already earned top marks from critics.

With the Indie Game Awards cracking down on AI-assisted projects, developers now face closer scrutiny than ever. Still, Blue Prince keeps its Best Independent Game title, proving that human-driven design can still win big in 2025.
