Game Science has revealed Black Myth: Zhong Kui, the next entry in the Black Myth series after Black Myth: Wukong. The game is planned for PC and “mainstream consoles,” though exact platforms and a release date are not yet confirmed.

Unlike Wukong, players will not take on the role of the Monkey King. Instead, the new title focuses on Zhong Kui, a figure from Chinese myth known for hunting demons and spirits. Game Science describes it as another single-player action RPG built on the same foundation of folklore and myth, but with fresh ideas and changes.

The announcement arrived on August 20, continuing the studio’s tradition of sharing updates on that date. With development still at an early stage, no gameplay has been shown yet. Instead, a CG short was released to confirm that the project has officially begun.

The studio promises new stories, bolder features, and lessons learned from Wukong. While details remain scarce, the team assures players that the journey of the Black Myth universe is far from over.
