Biwin has revealed a new Mini SSD that combines NVMe speed with the size of a SIM card tray. The tiny storage device is only slightly larger than a MicroSD card but still delivers strong performance. Biwin says it can reach up to 3,700 MB/s read speeds and 3,400 MB/s write speeds when running over PCIe 4.0 x2.
The Mini SSD comes in 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB versions. Measuring just 15 × 17 × 1.4 mm, it uses a smartphone-style eject pin for tool-free swapping. This makes it simple to replace or upgrade storage in handheld devices.

Biwin aims for portable performance
Durability is also part of the package. The module is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance and can survive drops from up to three meters. That makes it suitable for users who need fast storage on the move.

Early support is already here. Devices such as the GPD Win 5 and OneXPlayer Super X are expected to adopt the format. If performance matches Biwin’s claims, the Mini SSD could become a strong middle ground between MicroSD cards and M.2 drives. With its mix of convenience and speed, it has the potential to reshape storage in handheld gaming and mobile tech.
