Game Freak is stepping far away from Pokémon with Beast of Reincarnation, and it’s clear they’re aiming for the big leagues. Revealed during the February 12 State of Play, the post-apocalyptic game now has a firm release date: August 4, 2026.
Beast of Reincarnation – Release Date Announce Trailer
Set thousands of years in the future in a broken Japan, the game mixes myth, evolving environments, and savage combat. Think Sekiro meets Elden Ring, but with a living world that reacts to you.
You play as Emma, infected with the blight that’s torn the world apart, and her companion Koo, a dog whose powers are as mysterious as the threats you’ll face. Together, you’ll navigate dangerous ruins, customise your abilities, and shape the journey through RPG-style progression.

For anyone on Xbox, the news gets better: Beast of Reincarnation hits Game Pass on day one, so you won’t need to buy separately to dive in.
From the trailer to the gameplay reveals, it’s clear Game Freak isn’t just experimenting; they’re aiming to redefine what players expect from an adventure. August can’t come soon enough.
