Battlefield 6 anti-cheat clashes with Valorant, asks players to uninstall it

Battlefield 6 is making headlines again, but not for the reason EA would like. Reports are flooding in that the game’s anti-cheat is telling players to remove Valorant from their PCs.

Spotted by TheGamer, the issue has popped up across r/Battlefield. Players are sharing screenshots of a “Security Violation” pop-up. The message says game failed to launch due to “general software incompatibility” and recommends uninstalling the conflicting software – in this case, Valorant.

The problem comes down to a tech standoff. Battlefield 6 uses the Javelin anti-cheat system. Valorant uses Vanguard. Both operate at the secure boot kernel level, and it seems they’re stepping on each other’s toes.

This comes after EA claimed the Battlefield 6 open beta was their biggest ever. Over 330,000 cheating attempts were blocked during the test, but the game still hit over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam. It even topped Call of Duty’s all-time high.

Some in the industry, including a former Blizzard boss, believe Battlefield 6 could “boot stomp” Call of Duty this year. That is, if it can stop fighting Valorant first.
