Assassin’s Creed Shadows just got a big shake-up with its 1.1.1 update, landing right before the first expansion Claws of Awaji hits on 16 September. This patch isn’t just about fixes – it’s packed with new content, quality-of-life features, and some fan-favourite rewards that will definitely keep players busy.

This Shadows update is rolling out today at 2 PM UTC, though brace yourself for the download. It’s 42 GB on PC, 33 GB on Xbox, and nearly 13 GB on PS5. Once you’ve got it, you’ll unlock a new free quest called “Go with the Bo,” where Naoe gets access to the Bo staff – perfect for her fast, agile combat style.

The level cap has been raised to 100, so there’s a lot more room to grind and grow. Hideouts are also getting a boost with 20 new upgrades and three additional levels, letting you build bigger, stronger bases. Another big win is time-skipping, which finally lets you fast-forward between day and night, making those time-sensitive missions so much easier.

And for the series veterans, Ubisoft is giving away some brilliant legacy cosmetics – Ezio Auditore’s robes and hood, a themed Kusarigama, a Firenze Trinket, and even a pet – all unlocked for free via the Animus Hub.

On top of that, expect a mountain of fixes. From bugged quests and misplaced NPCs to visual issues and balance tweaks, the list is long. Even better, cutscenes on PC are no longer stuck at 30 FPS.

This is the last major patch for Shadows before Claws of Awaji arrives, and it’s the perfect setup for the expansion.
