Borderlands 4 has finally delivered the photo mode players were promised before launch. Nearly five months after release, Gearbox has added the feature along with a major update packed with fixes and tweaks.
Photo mode is more than a simple camera tool. You can move the camera anywhere, adjust field of view, change the depth of field, and apply filters. The scene itself is flexible too. Players can switch the time of day, add or remove characters, NPCs, and even toggle damage numbers. It’s a clear nod to fans who love capturing their best in-game moments.

Borderlands 4 update revamps skills and improves gameplay
The update isn’t just about screenshots. Quest and challenge tracking has been improved, making objectives easier to follow. Ultimate Vault Hunter mode now offers higher dedicated drop rates, giving players more reason to grind. Harlowe’s Zero-Point action skill got a rework too. The base skill now includes the old Inertia augment’s bonuses, with higher slam damage and improved status effects. Amon and Vex have received smaller damage and behaviour tweaks for more consistent combat.

2K also revealed the 2026 roadmap. Players can expect a mix of free and paid content across the year. Q1 will bring Bounty Pack 2, a free update introducing pearlescent rarity, and Story Pack 1. More free updates and paid DLCs will follow through Q2 and Q3. Alongside this, Gearbox plans performance improvements, balance changes, cross-save support, and shared progression between save files.
With this update, Borderlands 4 is finally getting closer to the complete experience players were promised.
