WWE 2K26 promises massive roster, CM Punk showcase, and revamped gameplay

WWE 2K26

2K has pulled the curtain back on WWE 2K26, and this year’s entry is clearly aiming to feel like a reset moment for the series. It lands in March, with CM Punk front and centre, both on the cover and in a dedicated 2K Showcase mode that traces key moments from his career.

The scale is hard to miss. WWE 2K26 launches with over 400 playable Superstars on day one. That is, before DLC, Personas, or post-launch additions even enter the picture. It is a roster built to overwhelm, in a good way. Match variety is also getting a boost, with I Quit, Inferno, Dumpster, and Three Stages of Hell matches joining the line-up. Weapons are messier too, with shopping carts and thumb tacks now fair game.

WWE 2K26 finally tackles its biggest gameplay complaint

For long-time players, the most important change is not the roster. Visual Concepts has reworked the reversal and stamina systems from scratch. These systems have been a weak point for years, and the studio says the new approach adds more decision-making to every match. That is exactly what the series has been missing.

Elsewhere, the updates keep coming. The Creation Suite doubles its Create-A-Superstar slots and expands body morphing tools. MyGM supports more shows, bigger match types, and intergender bouts. MyRise leans harder into player choice, while The Island returns with a new storyline and finally launches on PC.

WWE 2K26 releases on March 13 for PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2. Early access begins March 6. Prices start at $70 (£55), climbing to $150 (£118) for the Monday Night War Edition. At this price point, WWE 2K26 is asking a lot, but it is also promising more than ever before.
