The Lords of the Fallen 2

Independent studio CI Games has officially revealed the first gameplay of Lords of the Fallen 2, and it looks darker, faster, and more intense than ever. The new trailer premiered during The Game Awards and gave fans a strong taste of what the sequel is aiming to deliver.

The gameplay video shows brutal combat, massive enemies, and a haunting world split between two realms. The trailer is backed by a dramatic cover of “It’s a Sin” by the rock band Ghost, which adds to the heavy and dark tone of the game. Built using Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen II is planned to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Players can already add it to their wishlists.

The Lords of the Fallen 2 game is set 1,000 years after the fall of the dark god Adyr. The human world is once again under threat, this time from the dead realm known as Umbral and its mysterious master. Players step into the role of a Lampbearer, a warrior standing between life and death in a world shaped by cruel gods and violent magic.

The Lords of the Fallen 2 combat has been improved in a big way. The developers have added a new dismemberment system, allowing players to cut enemies apart during fights. There are also new execution moves that finish enemies in a brutal but satisfying way. Battles are designed to feel faster and smoother, while still keeping the hard challenge that fans of soulslike games enjoy.

The trailer also gives a first look at several bosses. These include the Heartroot Warden, a huge enemy wrapped in metal and chains, the flying Koydreth who attacks from mirrored runes, and Lingao the Souring Storm, a giant dragon that controls wind and lightning. These fights look large in scale and very demanding, pushing players to master timing and movement.

According to The Lords of the Fallen 2 Game Director James Lowe, the team is focused on a players first approach. He shared that the goal is to offer faster combat, more enemy types, and bigger boss battles than before. He also hinted that this reveal is only the beginning, with much more to be shown in the future.

While fans wait for the sequel, CI Games has released the final major update for Lords of the Fallen (2023). Version 2.5 brings major changes to enemy and boss behaviour. Combat is now quicker and more aggressive across both Legacy Mode and the new Veteran Mode.

Bosses like Pieta now have better attack combos and more move variety. The Congregator of Flesh has been adjusted to feel tighter and less easy to stagger. Mini bosses attack faster and position themselves more smartly, while normal enemies are also more aggressive due to a new global cooldown system.

Veteran Mode is designed as the hardest challenge in the game. Bosses in this mode have new attack patterns, faster transitions, and higher pressure. Players who complete Veteran Mode earn a special reward, the Veteran of the Veil breastplate, which also offers a unique item drop bonus.

Some boss weapons have also been updated with new attack animations, making them feel more special and powerful. Version 2.5 is the result of over 70 updates, shaped by feedback from more than six million players.

CEO Marek Tyminski said the team has listened closely to the community since launch and believes this update is the best version of their vision. The update is free for all existing players.
