Aurogon Shanghai has announced Swords of Legends, a new action RPG that already draws comparisons to Black Myth: Wukong. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and its first gameplay trailer is now available.

Swords of Legends is the official sequel to the GuJian single-player series. It continues the story from earlier games while adding fresh ideas, characters, and adventures. The world is set to expand with more history, legends, and mysteries to uncover.

Development began in 2021, with the team securing investment in early 2024. Since then, the studio has expanded and the game has been in full production for about two years.

Visually, the game is close to Black Myth: Wukong. However, the focus here is not on Soulslike gameplay or a fully open world. Instead, it follows a “wide linear” design. Players can explore areas freely but will still follow a clear story path. The goal is to combine freedom with strong storytelling.

The trailer shows combat with dodging, blocking, and battles against mini-bosses. While it shares some visual style with Soulslike titles, the developers stress that the main focus will be its narrative, told through rich cinematic cutscenes.

There is no release window yet. A realistic launch could be around 2028, so fans should not expect it anytime soon.
