Woochi the Wayfarer teaser sets the stage for a Korean fantasy epic

Woochi the Wayfarer

Nexon Games has revealed Woochi the Wayfarer, a single-player fantasy action adventure steeped in Korean mythology. Developed by LoreVault Studio and powered by Unreal Engine 5, it draws inspiration from The Tale of Jeon Woochi, a classic Korean novel about a mage who fights injustice and deceives the corrupt.

Official Woochi the Wayfarer teaser

The first teaser trailer runs for just over two minutes. It’s cinematic and moody, showing a shaman’s eerie chant and the shadow of Woochi in a dense forest before cutting to a tense standoff. No gameplay yet, no release date either – just the promise of PS5, Xbox, and PC versions.

Nexon Games CEO Park Yong-hyun says the goal is to deliver a unique experience rooted in Korean culture but with emotional impact for players everywhere. That authenticity is being backed up with field research, as the dev team visits real cultural sites to recreate the Joseon era in vivid 3D.

The soundtrack comes from Jung Jae-il, composer of Parasite and Squid Game, blending traditional Korean music with a cinematic sweep.

With storytelling, visuals, and music already lining up, Woochi the Wayfarer could put Korean fantasy firmly on the global gaming map – if the gameplay delivers.
