AMD has officially confirmed the launch date for its latest AI-focused graphics card. The AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPU will arrive on Wednesday, July 23. It is part of the new RDNA 4 series and is built to handle heavy AI workloads.

The Radeon AI PRO R9700 uses the Navi 48 chip and comes with 32 GB of GDDR6 memory. It supports the latest PCIe 5.0 standard. According to AMD, this GPU delivers up to 496% faster AI inference compared to NVIDIA’s RTX 5080. Yet, its price is expected to be almost half of the upcoming RTX PRO Blackwell series.

At first, this GPU will be available only in ready-made workstations from OEM brands like Boxx and Velocity Micro. If you prefer to build your own system, you can expect standalone models from ASRock, PowerColor, and others later in Q3 2025. Early listings show a price of about $1,250. This is higher than the $599 RX 9070 XT, but much more affordable than similar NVIDIA workstation GPUs. Some shops have already started pre-orders.

The Radeon AI PRO R9700 is made for AI professionals. It can handle tasks like natural language processing, image generation, generative design, and more. Its 32 GB of VRAM allows large AI models to run fully on local machines, cutting down latency and keeping data secure.

It is fully compatible with AMD’s ROCm 6.3 software platform, which works with popular AI tools like PyTorch, ONNX Runtime, and TensorFlow. Developers can easily build, test, and deploy models on local workstations.

The card has a dual-slot design with a blower-style cooler. This helps it work well in multi-GPU setups where space and cooling are important. It’s ideal for companies needing high-throughput AI systems with parallel pipelines and big memory capacity.

Radeon AI PRO R9700 arrival

The Radeon AI PRO R9700 looks ready to offer serious AI performance at a more accessible price than many workstation GPUs. Retailers are accepting pre-orders now, so AI creators can get ready for its arrival on July 23.
