SOMA is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 24. The game is a sci-fi horror title from Frictional Games, the studio behind Amnesia. This version is handled by Abylight Studios and will also work on the upcoming Switch 2.

SOMA on Switch: underwater horror on the go

In SOMA, you wake up in PATHOS-II, a broken underwater research base. Strange machines roam the dark halls. You’re not sure what’s real.

The game is known for its deep story and disturbing themes. It asks big questions like: what is consciousness? Are you still human if your mind is in a machine?

The Switch version keeps the full experience. The visuals, sounds, and gameplay are all here. Abylight Studios says they’ve optimised it for smooth performance.

Nothing important was cut. The game still looks eerie and sounds intense.

On Metacritic, the game holds a strong score of 84. That shows how well it was received when it first launched.

A portable version worth playing

Playing SOMA handheld adds to the tension. With headphones, it’s even more immersive.

This version is great for new players or anyone wanting to replay it. And if you’re getting Switch 2, you’re covered.

SOMA

SOMA is already out on PS4, Xbox, and PC through Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Now it’s heading to Switch on July 24.
