SLEEP AWAKE is coming in 2026, and it’s already looking like one of the most intense horror experiences yet. Published by Blumhouse Games and developed by EYES OUT, this first-person title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
Set in a world where sleep means death or worse, the game throws you into a city on the edge of collapse. People are desperate to stay awake, driven mad by insomnia and fear. Anyone who falls asleep disappears without a trace, taken by something called The HUSH. You play as Katja, someone doing everything she can to survive in this nightmare while dodging strange death cults that are more than happy to make you their next offering.
Sleep Awake is more than just horror
What makes SLEEP AWAKE stand out is how it blends horror with trippy, dreamlike visuals. There’s a constant sense that nothing is quite real, helped along by the use of full-motion video and unsettling environments. The team behind the game includes Cory Davis, best known for Spec Ops: The Line, and Robin Finck from Nine Inch Nails, who is creating the game’s dark, hypnotic soundtrack.

The gameplay mixes exploration, puzzles, stealth, and some seriously tense chase scenes. Katja’s story is a personal one, too; she’s still dealing with the loss of her family to a past disaster called The Swell. All of it unfolds in a place known as The Crush, the last known city on Earth, where even a few seconds of sleep could mean your end.

Visually, it’s rich and disturbing. Think collapsing buildings, strange symbols, glowing lights, and spaces that twist and shift when you’re not looking. The audio design plays a huge role as well, pulling you deeper into the game’s eerie world.

If you’re into horror that messes with your head and makes you question what’s real, SLEEP AWAKE might be exactly what you’re looking for. Keep your eyes open literally, and expect more updates as we get closer to 2026.
