Dead Take is coming July 31. It launches on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game is made by Surgent Studios and published by Pocketpair Publishing.
You play Chase Lowry, voiced by Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate III). He’s an actor searching for his missing friend, Vinny Monroe, played by Ben Starr. The search takes place in a huge Hollywood mansion. But the glitz hides something dark.
Big names. Bigger pressure.
This cast is stacked. You’ve got stars from games, anime, and even the guy behind Max Payne.
Here’s the full list:
Actor | Notable Works |
---|---|
Jane Perry | Baldur’s Gate III, Dragon Age: The Veilguard |
Alanah Pearce | Cyberpunk 2077, V/H/S/Beyond |
Laura Bailey | The Last of Us: Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 |
Matthew Mercer | Critical Role, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth |
Sam Lake | Alan Wake II, Max Payne |
Travis Willingham | Marvel Rivals, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order |
CDawgVA | Honkai: Star Rail, Card-En-Ciel |
It’s not just casting for fun. Creative director Abubakar Salim says the game is about ambition and pressure. “It’s about the lies we tell to shine. And the monsters we become to stay there.”

Fame has a dark side
Dead Take gameplay is all puzzles and found footage. You search the mansion. You splice videos. You solve puzzles to move forward. And slowly, the truth unravels.
It’s not ghosts you’re scared of here. It’s the industry. The lies. The price of fame.

Wishlisting Dead Take now? Good idea. You’ll want to be ready when the spotlight turns cold.
