EA will fully reveal EA Sports FC 26 this Wednesday, 16 July 2025. One big detail is already out Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the cover of the Ultimate Edition.

Zlatan is also coming to the game as an ICON in FUT. You’ll be able to add him to your squad. It’s a big move that celebrates his legendary career.

There’s no set release date yet. But if EA follows its usual pattern, the game should launch in September.

EA Sports FC 26 has something to prove

Last year’s FC 25 didn’t hit its goals. It’s now on Xbox Game Pass, but EA isn’t making a fuss about it. That’s because the game missed key sales targets.

That was a big problem. EA depends on its football series especially FUT to keep money coming in. So when FC 25 failed, it caused serious concern.

This year has already seen cuts. EA laid off teams at Respawn. It cancelled the Black Panther game and shut down the studio behind it.

FC 26 needs to do better. Another failure could lead to more cuts. But bringing back Zlatan is a strong first step. He’s bold, iconic, and full of fire. Just what EA needs right now.
